RM90,000 for a K-RX........Would you?

I was shocked and almost jumped out of my seat when I saw this link posted by Hezz. The car is a 21 years old CR-X with a K20A transplant was advertised in Mudah.com for RM90,000.00! By far it is the most expensive CR-X ever advertised on the net in recent years.

No doubt it's the first ever K-swap on an EF chassis known in Malaysia with all the goodies and stuffs.......but just look at how 'perfect' was the workmanship of the conversion. I'm not convinced AT ALL with the mountings...and the block skimmed for 'high comp'? WTF? Then look at the interior, the rivets, panels and all.. oh god, my EF interior looks gazillion times better than that.

There must be a very good reason for the owner to sell at that price...... Probably coz its a 'RARE' thang in Malaysia. Hahaha. I just hope that the boys from the States are not reading this post.....

With RM90,000 cash in hand, I would buy this instead for my weekend fun -

..and another car say a Kelisa for my daily drive. And oh, I might have some more cash left so I'd buy few more stuffs for the EG, and the Kelisa. :-D

Civic FD2 Type-R Conquered Sepang!

I was invited by a friend of mine to join this one of a kind event in SIC two weeks ago. It's the Civic Type-R Track Day organized by Honda Malaysia for the owners of the latest Civic FD2 Type-R. Malaysia is the only country outside Japan that the Type-R being officially sold by Honda and to date almost 200 (!) units are prowling on the streets of Malaysia..Thats quite a big number for a sports sedan with a RM200,000 price tag. As a gesture of appreciation to the owners, this event was hosted for them to really feel the purpose and potential of a Honda with the red emblem.

Thanks to Fahrein a.k.a Freen for the ride. No unintentional signals or wipers turned on during the slalom event means either he's good or he's prepared. He accomplished third for the mini-autocross event with a very calm and composed 'octopus hands' action. Ha ha ha...

Enjoy the Type-R porn below!

The Darkside - Part II

Okay, finally I managed to gather the pics for this post. This favourite wheels of mine were installed about two weeks ago at Era Maju in JB. To those who never heard of Era Maju - they're one of the most reputable and succesful tire shop in Johor. Being the authorized dealer for Toyo Tires, they also have vast choices of sport rims for Japanese and Continental cars.

I've been searching for the RPF1 since day one, but couldn't find the black version even in Singapore. So I went to Era Maju and found this set lying there for sometimes. It belongs to one of our local racer and the size is 17 x 7.5JJ with an offset of +48, perfect for my car. After discussing for few times, the owner decided to part with it and I waited no longer to ask Era Maju for a color change. The color of choice is matte black, pretty similar to the SSR Type-F. For the wheel change, I re-use the RS Sport tires as it is still good for another track day or so (No excuse to change brand new tires haha).

Some of Era Maju's customers. Check out the intercooler on this E46.

A very nice 350Z with DAMD kit.

A lady is driving this. Those BBS are sick!

While waiting I heard loud rumble at the back of my car. It came from this yellow Porsche.

So here's the final result of the Darkside Part II project. Car was dirty as hell! Also check out the front Modulo bumper lip I installed the other day. Hehe.

After washing the car few hours ago... I've got the red Enkei decals being put on to give it a contrast to the black rims.

It's not that wide.....should have gone for 17 x 8JJ et+35 hahaha..

Black Mamba looking ferocious with new shoes...

Post Installation Comments:

1. The stance of a 7.5inchers doesn't look too agressive, especially from the back. Next wheel change its gonna be at least 8inches wide.

2. Perhaps I need to lower down the rear shocks. Car looks a bit high at the back.

3. Costs: Used Enkei RPF1 with new color - RM4,100; Brand new Modulo front lip from Honda Access - RM1,200

New Links

In order to provide the best information for the visitors of this blog, I'll be posting links of other automotive bloggers and useful websites from time to time. Here are the latest additions:

2. Rod Rolirad's Racing in Japan: A nice dude from Aussie living in Japan and drives a DC5 Type-R. He's been conquering the circuits in Japan with the Type-R. Great review of his track experiences, car setup and gadgets directly from the land of the rising sun. It's in Engrish. :)

Godzilla

Last weekend I met couple of friends for coffee in Kelana Jaya. One of them (name not to be disclosed hahahah) surprisingly came driving the rare Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R M-Spec NuR. It is mouthful to even say the full name but I don't mind spelling it one by one for you. LOL. The thunderous RB26DETT turned many heads to the stealthy black Godzilla as he was looking for a place to park. He settled down, came out from the car (with a cocky face hahaha but it's ok since he's driving a GODZILLA. Really.) and joined us for supper.

The monster RB26DETT under its hood is no longer stock. The brain is now MoTec, the heart is a set of high lift camshafts (presumably Tomei ), the lungs are a set of bigger turbine unit and the excretion system is Trust PE-TiR exhaust ; all good for 450whp.

After two glasses of iced coffee and countless story sharing, Aaron and myself were offered for a ride (after we threatened the owner that is hahaha). We had to be selfish and we had to ditch other friends as this is probably the only chance we'll get in our life to be in an M-Spec Nur GTR! So here you go, turn on your speaker volume and listen to the scream of the Godzilla; a car that seperates MEN from the boys.

Blissful Evening at Tung Chun Racing

While waiting for Black Mamba to get her new shoes installed, Ram picked me up to go to Tung Chun. It's been a while since the last time I visit them. As always, the workshop was full with fleet of Hondas from EG to FD2R doing basic servicing, engine rebuilding and tuning. But the two cars below caught my attention and I waste no time to take the pics using my phone.

This time attack DC5 is being prepped for an event in SIC next month. It is currently pumping 320hp of pure N/A power complete with a wide-bodykit from Buddy Club.

The dashboard is full carbon fibre. Yes, the whole dashboard. Malaysia Boleh!

This is a Buddy-Club ProSpec exhaust for Civic FD2R. A friendly reminder for Fahrein to get this before its being sold to someone else.

This EG is running on K24 with internals every petrolhead could dream off. Its a daily beater c/w airconditioning and power steering. And it has four pieces of Toyo R888 semis to keep it on the ground. Car was built by the man in the picture, the Jackie Chan of K-series. Heheh.

Hasport, BDL, Mahle, Toda...You name it, he got it.

The coolest mod on this EG interior - S2000 cluster covered with carbon fibre housing. Everything on the gauge is functioning, not a single thing missed. I wish I could have done this on my EF! "CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT" as what Hezz said before. Bravo Tung Chun!
